Description
To perform diagnostic studies of the skeleton and to obtain images that demonstrate the possible existence of areas with altered osteogenic processes in adult and/or pediatric patients, such as primary and secondary bone tumors, infections, bone disease of metabolic origin, trauma, stress fractures, among others.
The process of bone uptake of a phosphonate has three phases:
- The first corresponds to the transfer of the agent from the vascular to the extravascular compartment.
- The second corresponds to the dissociation of the biological transporter agent, plasma ionic calcium.
- The third represents the concentration rate in the bone matrix.
