Fluorothymidine ([18F] FLT) is an analog of Thymidine.
Descripción
Fluorothymidine ([18F] FLT) is an analog of Thymidine and is used as a marker of cell proliferation by positron emission tomography (PET). The 18F-FLT has shown excellent sensitivity in the detection of primary tumors, even for the detection of affected axillary nodes. Its application has important advantages as it is a proliferation marker and not a metabolism marker as is the case with F-FLT. 18F-FDG. It also has applications in the staging of some neoplasms such as lymphoma, melanoma, lung and breast cancer, and in the detection of metastases of many other origins.
