Description

⁶⁸Ga-PSMA PET/CT is used for the study of prostate cancer with increased expression of prostate-specific membrane antigen (PSMA). Increased PSMA expression is present in several tumors, although its concentration is higher in prostate cancer. The level of PSMA expression has prognostic value for disease progression, both in primary and matastatic lesions, showing detection of biochemical recurrence in prostate cancer. It also provides a measure of the three-dimensional distribution, obtaining semiquantitative images that allow non-invasive assessment of PSMA expression. Par teragnosis of ¹⁷⁷Lu-PSMA.
